About

I’m Caitlyn, a twenty-something event planning fiend living life in Seattle. Here you’ll find all sorts of things – food things, stylish things, event-y things, Seattle-y things, healthy things…and so much more.

This blog is my attempt to seize the day – carpe diem, ya feel? Get out there, try new things, do things I love over and over and over again until I just can’t take it anymore. The thing is, I’m passionate about living life to the fullest and getting the most out of my experiences. I try to take like seriously enough so that I can achieve my goals and celebrate my successes, but not so seriously that I’m letting the little things get me down.

As a real life millennial (I hate that word), I have a tendency to get bored if things aren’t interesting enough and I live a life with a full work schedule that keeps me plenty busy and engaged.

Let’s be real though, I’m more than an office robot that works nonstop day after day.  I love cooking and baking like there’s no tomorrow, and there’s nothing better than finding an amazing new outfit at a thrift store (glitter sale anyone?). The gym is my second home – throwing weights around makes me feel more alive than anything else on the planet. Oh, and I have a thing for events, planning and working them, but I have a hard time enjoying them as a guest. Perhaps that’s a symptom of spending so much time working on them or of simply being a millenial? Just kidding. But really.

I also like to learn new things. Especially things that are particularly difficult and/or time consuming. I have a slight obsession with completing things for the sake of completing them and if they’re difficult, then they aren’t boring. I picked up knitting as soon as spring came around, and  after many many hours of having to completely undo what I had started so that I could start over, I learned to knit! Pretty cool. If you have picked up a difficult skill that an obsessive person such as myself might enjoy, let me know and I’ll give it a go!
